On the 20th, the police attended and investigated until midnight, and continued to fight for the truth about habitual assault and blackmail.

Lim Hye-dong (27), a former professional baseball player who was sued by Korean major leaguer Kim Ha-seong (28, San Diego Padres) on charges of blackmail and defamation, returned home after midnight after being interrogated by the police for about 10 hours.

According to the police on the 21st, Gangnam Police Station in Seoul summoned Mr. Lim as a defendant from 2pm the previous day (20th) and investigated him. This is the first time that the police summoned Mr. Lim for questioning.

Mr. Lim finished the investigation around midnight on this day and left the police station, telling reporters, “I participated faithfully (in the investigation). “More details will be revealed later,” she said.

He left without answering the following questions, such as 'Kim Ha-seong's side claims that there was no habitual assault. What is your position?' 'Is it true that you continuously asked for money?' and 'Do you have any plans for a press conference?'

Before going for the investigation the day before, he said, “There are clear differences in the factual relationship with Kim Ha-seong’s side,” and said, “I will explain it faithfully during the police investigation.”

A police official told Newsis, “We only investigated Mr. Lim’s blackmail charges,” and added, “A separate investigation into the defamation charges will be held at a later date.”

The police plan to analyze the details of Mr. Lim's investigation and then determine the direction of the future investigation.

In the case of additional charges of defamation, the accuser has not yet been investigated, so cross-examination of both sides is expected to be difficult for the time being.

Mr. Kim previously submitted a complaint to the police on the 27th of last month, saying that he had been continuously threatened with blackmail by Mr. Lim. On the 6th, he attended the Gangnam Police Station and was interrogated as a complainant.
