Vice Minister Jang Mi-ran encouraging youth Olympics reporters

Second Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Jang Mi-ran visited the main media center for the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games within the Green City Experience Center in Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do on the 29th and encouraged reporters.

Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Second Vice Minister Jang Mi-ran met and welcomed 182 Chinese group tourists who visited the Gangneung Hockey Center to watch the ice hockey game at the '2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games' on the 31st and presented the competition's mascot. He revealed that he gave him an In Muncho doll as a gift.

These are some of the 245 tourists from China, Japan, and Thailand who participated in the '1st International Youth Ice Hockey Friendship Exchange Camp' hosted and supported by the Gyeongnam Ice Hockey Association and the Korea Tourism Organization.

In addition, 45 child reporters from China's Shandong Province have been visiting Korea since the 28th.They plan to cover Gangwon 2024 and tour Korea by the 1st of next month.

Previously, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization held a K-Tourism roadshow in 15 cities, including Shanghai, since September last year to increase overseas awareness of Gangwon 2024 and promoted it in 30 cities in connection with major world expos such as the Osaka Tourism Expo.

In addition, in order to develop Gangwon 2024 tourism products, 261 tourism industry officials, including Chinese elementary, middle, and high school principals, travel content creators from Japan and Malaysia, and Vietnamese travel agencies, were invited to Gangwon-do and supported a familiarization tour.

16,000 copies of competition promotional booklets were distributed through 32 overseas branches of tourism organizations around the world, and promotional content was posted on social networks such as YouTube.

Local online travel platforms and travel agencies in China and elsewhere sold 23 types of tourism products that included viewing the Gangwon 2024 games, and through this, more than 1,000 foreign group tourists watched Gangwon 2024.
